Originally believed to be inspired by the upcoming Olympic Games, this Air Jordan 7 is now known to be inspired by the great Spanish artist Joan Miró and his famous sculpture called “Woman and Bird”. Miró died shortly before Michael Jordan helped team USA take gold in the ‘84 Olympics, in addition Michael Jordan originally wore the Air Jordan 7’s in the ‘92 Games when USA took gold, this time in Miró’s hometown of Barcelona, Spain. Thus the reasoning for the Air Jordan VII as the basis for the tribute. The shoe greatly resembles the “Woman and Bird” sculpture with its multi-colored designs covering the uppers and with its matching laces. Featured on the back of the shoe is Jordan’s Olympic number 9.

Nike Air Force One “Lucky” Customs
C2 Customs presents us with his latest custom sneaker dubbed “Lucky” which uses an Air Force One as a base. The order is a custom job done for C2s barber who goes by the nickname Lucky. Lucky put in an order to have a pair of Custom Air Force Ones designed with a theme that looks like he just kicked his feet through a puddle of fresh blood. Starting with an AF1 base that includes a satin liner and a 3m tongue C2 broke out the paints and went about adding a bold red blood splatter design to the front. Instead of using a blotchy and dripping blood design C2 added his own flair to the idea by giving the blood splatter more of a Tech Challenge look. There are even some very tiny spots added towards the heel of the sneaker to give it that authentic look, cause you know the blood wouldnt just end up on the front right? On the heel of the left sneaker C2 add the name Lucky in Old English font and on the left added his own tag. The Tech Challenge blood splatter design combined with the satin liner and 3m tongue included on the base makes me a hot pair of AF1 thats im sure Lucky was more then pleased with.

Air Jordan Brand Wine & Grind Pack - Paris Exclusive
To commemorate the Parisian streetball tournament Quai 54, Air Jordan Brand has initiated the release of a special pack entitled Wine & Grind. Included are the Air Jordan V Fusion (Wine) and the Jordan Esterno (Grind).
The pack will be hitting stores on July 4th and sold exclusively in Paris in limited quantities. The Air Jordan V Fusion will be limited to 170 pairs and will be sold at Opium and Colette. The Jordan Esterno will be limited to 155 pairs and sold only at Footlocker Paris.
Nike Dunk ‘Triggerfish’ Customs
TTK is back at it once again with a pair of fresh custom sneakers. Instead of his signature style which you are use to seeing on something like the Submerged Nike Dunks, TTK switches it up here with a completely different design. These custom dunks have been in the works since Stetember 2007 between TTK and a close friend of his. He was put to the challenge to design a custom sneaker based upon the species of fish known as the Clown Triggerfish. After giving it much thought and gathering some good images for references TTK went to town. The Dunks cover all the main aspects of the Triggerfish including the white spots scattered around the upper (which are not suppose to be perfectly round by the way), a yellow and black abstract like pattern on the tongue and frontal and subtle touches of aqua and coral on the Nike Swoosh and toe box of each shoe. Theres also little speckles of coral and aqua on the mid panel. At first glance you may not realize the theme behind these, actually chances are you wont at all, they may just look like a few random designs thrown together real quick, but if you check out a picture of a Triggerfish (which is after the jump) you can match up the similarities to a T.

Nike Air Force 1 iD - Fall of Rome (Lupe Fiasco)
Lupe Fiasco recently was fortunate enough to design a pair of Nike Air Force 1 iD’s and his point of inspiration was his label, Fall of Rome. The Air Force 1’s he used for his iD’s were a pair of AF1 Low’s, mixed with some premium leather, patent leather, and mixture of Black and Gold. The custom AF1 shoetag reads “IV” which also symbolizes his F.O.R. label and his name for this shoe, AFIV. No information on whether or not these will be released but as of right now they are limited to four pairs worldwide.

Nike Dunk Antonio Sant’Elia Customs
These custom dunks are crazy. They are the creation of Intrxn who was inspried by the work of Antonio Sant’Elia a famous Italian architect and Umberto Boccioni, both who were futurist artists in the past. The design on the frontal of the sneaker in green and gray directly relates to the font style you see on the front of the box. Thats where Umberto Boccioni comes into the design, the font for the box was inspired by a sculpture done by Umberto. Intrxn carried that same erratic design to the front of the shoe to create an abstract looking design. On the heel panel of the Dunks theres a Power Station design which comes from the work of Antonio Sant’Elia. Theres even an Intrxn tag on the stuffed tongue and a custom made booklet which gives you an insight at where Nikes Design Department has found ideas to build on.

Nike Dunk ‘The Sample’ Custom Sneaker
Some of you may recognize the design on these custom sneakers from a previous Nike sample. A few years ago online some pictures of a sample Nike Dunk leaked which had the same design as what you see above. When the sneakerhead community caught a glimpse of samples many people instantly fell in love with what they saw. A lot of people considered them to be their grails and wanted them more then anything else at the time. However, sadly, the sneakers were never put into production and everybody was left dry. Sneaker customizer C2 got a lot of requests from his fan base to design a custom sneaker designed just like the sample Dunks shown in the pictures that leaked. It was a long time coming and C2 has finally finished the customs, which are what you see above. Besides the tag on the tongue being a different color, these sneakers match up to the original samples to a T.

Nike 1World - Air Force 1 Influencer Pack
The speculation leading up to the official release of the Nike 1World (Air Force 1 Influencer Pack) pack has been tremendous. Pictures have surfaced of a number of Air Force 1’s believed to be a part of the pack, including collaborations with KAWS, Yi Jian Lian, Daisuke Matsuzaka, Busy P, Gore-Tex of Nitro Microphone Underground, and Rasheed Wallace. Until now we haven’t been given any official news from Nike, but today marked the launch of the Nike 1World website that gives a little bit of information on what is in store from this amazing collection of collaboration Air Force 1’s. The entire 1World collection includes 18 pairs of Air Force 1’s that Nike has collaborated with 18 different influencers on. All 18 pairs will be released before the end of this year and from we’ve seen from the first release it looks like each shoe will be limited to the region the influencer is from. Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme - Birds Nest
The Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme that’s inspired by the Bird’s Nest, China’s National Olympic Stadium, which will house a number of the events during this year’s Beijing Summer Olympics, has been talked about by us and various other blogs for quite some time now. But now we finally have some concrete information for those of you who wanted to know more. The shoe comes in a Dark Obsidian color mixed with some White and will feature a Visible Heel Air Unit. In addition this particular pair features a Basketball graphic on the insole, a nice touch that fuses the shoe’s origin with where it is now. The good news for AF1 fans is that the Supreme price has been reduced, now retailing for a cool $175 as opposed to $225 or $250 like some of last year’s models. This AF1 Low Supreme “Birds Nest” will drop on July 8th at select Nike retailers worldwide including the Nike Member’s Only Store.
Rachel Roy & Damon Dash Sign $4 Billion Deal
Who can do the math on how many days of popping tags equates to that many zeros? According to Forbes, the Jones Apparel Group scooped up a venture to market & license the Rachel Roy fashion brand.
Under the terms of the agreement, Jones owns 50% of the joint venture interest. The remaining interest is owned by the two founders, Rachel Roy and Damon Dash, as well as TSM Capital which acquired a minority stake in the business last November.
Jones said it will assume operations of the existing designer collection business under license with the new joint venture.

Nike Dunk Low x Jun Matsui
Here is a look at a pair of Nike Dunks, which are exclusive to the Brazil and Japanese markets. The kicks actually represent the cultural exchange between the two nations marking the 100-year anniversary of a wave of migration from Japan to Brazil. The kicks are will release on June 17th 2008 with a 400 kicks available, 300 in Brazil and 100 in Japan.

New Bape Roadstas - Color Camo Pack
In Japan these are popularly referred to as the ‘Color Camo Stas’ and have appeared numerous times in the Madsta and Roadsta body styles with varying colors and textures. This time around Bape has chosen the newer Roadsta model. Each of the seven colorways plays off their own signature Bape Camo Colorway which can be seen in everything down to the classic Bape Camo pattern in the heel bubble. Bape also chose a subtle leather over the patent leather they are notorious for, giving the shoes a bit more of a casual monotone look.

Nike Dunk Hi Spider
We first featured the Nike Dunk Hi Spider last month, and just wanted to let you guys know that they are now available at BNYC Online. They feature a dark red / grey / white colorway. The quarter panels feature some sort of stitching pattern, which may be tied into the whole spider wed theme, while the toe box boasts a large spider print with the number 33 stitched onto the back end of the spider’s body.
Nike Dunk ‘Submerged Safari .5′ Customs
TTK is back!! Its been a few weeks since TTK has come around with a new pair of custom sneakers but today i present you his latest creation known as the ‘Submerged Safari .5′. Using the ever popular Nike Dunk as a base TTK took designs from 3 of his previous customs and included them all onto 1 sneaker. As he usually does, TTK catches my attention once again with a great color combo of teal, gray, black and gold, abstract designs all throughout, and a Nike Swoosh which appears to tuck behind the abstract safari print to find its way back out onto the heel. Nike iD Be True Dunks Laser
Following the treatment that the Air Force 1 received from last year, the Dunk has been made available on Nike iD with options never seen before. While the Dunks (both high and low) have been a staple item on Nike iD for a few years, never has one had the option to personalize their shoes via lasering. The new “Be True” Nike iD Dunks permit the user to create their own Dunks by a number of colors and laser the side panel on both the outside and inside faces of the shoe. In addition to this, you can now personalize them a step further with adding “EST.” and a 4 digit number on opposite pairs.
These options have been made available for both the Dunk Low and Dunk High priced at $135 and $140 respectively. You can make your own pair now at Nike iD.

Moving Mountains With the Brain, Not a Joystick
A new headset system picks up electrical activity from the brain, as well as from facial muscles and other spots, and translates it into on-screen commands. This lets players vanquish villains not with a click, but with a thought.
Put on the headset, made by Emotiv Systems in San Francisco, and when a giant boulder blocks the path in a game you are playing, you can levitate it — not by something as crude as a keystroke, but just by concentrating on raising it, said Tan Le, Emotiv’s president. The headset captures electrical signals when you concentrate; then the computer processes these signals and pairs a screen action with them, like lifting a stone or repairing a falling bridge.
The headset is the consumer cousin of brain-computer interfaces developed in research labs and used, for example, by monkeys who manipulate prosthetic arms with thoughts. The monkeys’ intentions are detected by sensors, translated into machine language and used to move the arm. In general, some interfaces use sensors implanted directly in the brain; others use electrode-studded caps.

Nike “1World” Nitro Microphone Underground Air Force 1
In SlamxHype’s recent interview with the Nitro Microphone Underground (Japanese Reggae artists) a new Japanese exclusive Nike Air Force 1 was dug up. With box camo patterns highlighting the shoe, the black undertones in the swoosh, laces and stitching allow the shoe to be more than your average Nike Air Force 1. Nike SB Dunk vs Nike Dunk - Ninja Turtle Customs
My jaw literally dropped when i saw these new custom sneakers by Thirst Customs. Thirst took a Nike SB Dunk and a regular ol’ Dunk to create 2 custom Ninja Turtle sneakers. The pair of SB Dunks are inspired by Donatello while the regular Dunk is molded after Leonardo. I cant even go into detail here, there is just so much going on that i dont even know where to begin.
