Sean C and LV 1515 Boys Profile
On Ghostface Killah: "We cooking that up right now. The last three Ghost albums we been on. The last one we had five [tracks]. ... The chemistry with Ghost is very good. It's mostly an automatic thing. He'll have a beat CD for a minute and when he's ready, he's like, 'I want this one this one and this one.' It just happens." - Sean C.
On Clipse: "We got three on [their next album]. I'm exited about that. They spit your head off. It's hard, straightforward, aggressive. They do what they do." - Sean C.
"The beats don't sound like us. One of them does, but the others don't." - LV
On Slaughterhouse: "We're really in the beginning stages of it. We're trying to scope a sound for Slaughterhouse so it's their sound, not somebody else's. We're sending them joints, they got a bunch of joints they picked." - Sean C.
On Wale: "I think he sounds real good. I definitely like the record we did. I like the Cool & Dre record. We went in a few times with him. The joint we did got Travis Barker on the drums. Wale got that done while he was is in L.A. The beat was done, then Travis played over it, then we played on top of what Travis did." - LV

T.I.'s Farewell Concert Video
"Nigga when you the muthafuckin' boss who else is it to tell on?"
Finally some good footage from last Sunday's show before Cliff turned himself in. As you can see he really can't get over the backstabbers who thought he'd be locked for a long time and said his career would be over. And don't you dare call him a snitch. Is this thug motivation?

Dr. Dre’s Dr. Pepper Commercial, Leaked Reference Plays In Background
It may just be a few seconds of music, but Dr. Dre fans will remember the new Dr. Pepper ad as the spot where they heard the first officially released beats from the much-delayed “Detox.”
The L.A.-based hip-hop producer appears in the last installment of an ad campaign entitled “Trust Me, I’m A Doctor,” and teases music from the long-awaited album, currently slated for a late 2009 release on Aftermath/Interscope. The commercial will begin airing on Monday, June 1.

Jay-Z: Warner or Epic? Carter Music Group?

Yesterday, Billboard reported Jay was close to a deal at Beyonce’s label, Epic Records.
Today, the NY Daily News claims Hov is headed to a Lyor/Liles/Kyser reunion at WMG.
Jay-Z may be a free agent for now, but he’s in talks to cut a deal with WMG/Atlantic that could make him one of the richest and most powerful men in music.
A well-placed industry source tells us that Jay - who recently left Def Jam as a recording artist (he served as its president from 2004-2007) - has been taking top-secret meetings with his old pals and former managers Lyor Cohen and Kevin Liles. Topics of the hush-hush conversations have included giving Jay his own record label at WMG, tentatively to be called the Carter Music Group.
“Jay knows Lyor and Kevin from back when they all worked together at Def Jam, and he obviously wants to work something out with his friends,” says our insider. “He wants to get the dream team back together. There have been a few whiffs of a reunion in the past, but only now - and very privately - is something finally starting to happen.”
Our source adds, “This is big in hip hop. These are three of the most powerful men in music, who might be working together, and there’s no question the success they’ll have as a team will be huge.”

How Soulja Boy Saved Hip-Hop

"Two years ago, before Ice-T had a verbal squabble with him and white kids in Idaho went ape over “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” Soulja Boy was already a legend among the teenybopper set. Using his MySpace page and YouTube videos, the 16-year-old kid literally gained millions of fans from the basement of his Batesville, Miss., home. Sometimes, he would go as far as pretending his songs were new Eminem and 50 Cent tracks to draw viewers. And it worked.
'I was getting $10,000 a show before I [was] signed,' says the now 18-year-old rapper. 'I got caught with $60,000 in my backpack at school … it wasn’t a good look.'"

Kanye Says Autotune Songs Are Not On BP3 Anymore; Album Is Now Anti-Autotune
“He’s just been working on it, and it’s gonna be amazing when he drops it. I think it’s good he’s taking his time to give people the best product possible and not being rushed by this fast-food, media-outlet, Internet, everything-is-getting-leaked, people-stealing your-songs-before-you-can-mix-them-and-put-them-online world we’re living in right now.”
Kanye revealed that he and Jay went back in and made some alterations to B3 since they first started.
“We actually removed all the songs with Auto-Tune off of his album,” West said, “to make the point that this is an anti-Auto-Tune album, even though I released an album that has all Auto-Tune!
“It doesn’t matter to me,” Kanye laughed about Jay not wanting to incorporate the sound that is featured so heavily on Kanye’s 808s & Heartbreak. “It’s music; it’s just sonics. I like Auto-Tune so I do it, but you want the other thing — like you’ll wear a suit to a wedding and gym shoes to a basketball game. I think it’s a perfect moment for Jay to provide some gym shoes to a basketball game right now.”

Irv Gotti Says ‘Nas Is Never Wack’
Irv Gotti had grand plans for Nas several years ago when he announced his fellow Queens native would be signing to Murder Inc. Records. Well, we all know Nas never came to the Inc., but I.G. says he’s remained tight friends with Esco and the two may even work together again. Gotti is still a fan of Nas’ music, but he prefers it when he keeps his raps simple.
“I like Nas,” Gotti said. “First of all, Nas is my brother — another one of my brothers. But I personally like Nas when he’s ignorant. Whenever Nas gets political or he starts thinking or he wants to change the world, it’s good, but I personally like it more when Nas is on his QB, ignorant n—a sh–. When he’s on [a] ‘Made You Look’ [vibe]. When he’s on his arrogant sh–. When Nas dumbs himself down, he’s nicer to me. I tell him that sh– all the time. … When he’s on some n—a sh–, he’s nicer.”
However, Irv is the last one to try and give the mic legend advice on his marital woes.
“I was with him yesterday,” Gotti explained. “Me and Nas is family … No, I didn’t even talk to him [about Kelis]. I gotta steer clear of that. That’s that man’s personal feelings. I’m there for him. If he wanna go out, party, chill — I’m a phone call away.”

Pharrell Williams Talks Street Dreams
Pharrell Williams Talks "Street Dreams" from nation on Vimeo.
Pharrell speaks to Nino Scalia, co-writer of Street Dreams, about making the song “Hoppin’ Over Fences” for the movie’s soundtrack after Rob Dyrdek (of Rob & Big) approached him for it. Here’s the film’s synopsis:
Derrick Cabrera, like all skateboarders, dreams of being sponsored one day. He has all the talent in the world to make it happen but some major roadblocks to overcome before he can make the dream a reality. He is receiving pressure from all sides, his parents are stressing him because he is failing in school, his girlfriend thinks he is a loser, his best friend has become his rival because he is better than him. Things come to a head after Derrick gets arrested and a fight ensues with his father resulting in him running away from home. He does the only thing he knows how to do and opts to follow his dream to the Tampa Am contest, one of the only ways an unknown skater can get noticed.

F.luxury.B x Kanye x ibn x Curtains x Pusha T x Kaws from ferris bueller on Vimeo.
Here’s a glimpse of a conversation they had when they were standing around at the shoot. Cur+@!n$ gets his Yeezy’s autographed and more of Pusha T’s rant about not getting a pair. Kanye counters by admitting that he probably spends more money on Yeezy’s than anyone since he has to get them off eBay. The videos a bit more candid than the other ones but it’s probably still difficult to say anything when everyone’s standing around and taping you. Props to Ferris Bueller for the footage though.

Jordan Six (6) Rings Hall of Fame (HOF) Pack

This September, Michael Jordan will be officially inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. Though there was never really any doubting the fact that MJ's career was first-ballot-hall-of-fame-worthy, MJ's historic career features hundreds of milestones, both big and small.
To commemorate Michael Jordan's induction into the Hall of Fame, Jordan Brand is releasing a Jordan Hall of Fame Pack (not package). The Jordan Hall of Fame Pack features an Air Jordan Retro 1, a Jordan Six Rings, an Air Jordan 2009, and a Jordan Varsity Jacket. Each of the pieces within the pack share a common theme, discovery detailing in the form of a number pattern that links back to many of MJ's milestones. Some of the numbers link back to the more obvious milestones and some link back to milestones that only a true Michael Jordan fan would know.
The Jordan Six Rings from the Hall of Fame pack features a Black patent leather, mesh, leather upper, with Red and Gold accents at the tongue and heel. The upper sits on a Black midsole that features the Hall of Fame print in White.
The Hall of Fame Jordan Six Rings, and the entire Hall of Fame Pack, is set to release in September 2009. Just in time for MJ's induction.

Air Jordan Retro I (1) GS - Urban Safari Pack

We present to you one of the two sneakers included in the Air Jordan (GS) Urban Safari Pack. Here we have a look at the Air Jordan 1 which yields a combo of a creme nubuck and a greenish suede on the upper. White is added to the Nike Swoosh while Orange comes into the pictures on the sole, the Air Jordan branding and on the orange laces included with the sneakers.
This Air Jordan Retro 1 and the Urban Safari Pack have been designed for the ladies and produced only in GS sizes. Although Jordan Brand has the intentions of marketing the shoes to the female crowd a few of the guys out there just may find this color scheme pretty interesting.

Air Jordan Flight 45 - Black/Varsity Red/Stealth

Since pictures of the Air Jordan Flight 45 first surfaced online the sneakers have been getting plenty of mixed reviews. While some Jordan fans are liking the design there are also plenty out there who believe many of the recent Air Jordan Hybrid designs just arent working.
Regardless of what you may think Jordan Brand is gonna pump out different colorups of the Flight 45 no matter what. The latest pictures to surface online give us a look at a black/varsity red/stealth Air Jordan Flight 45. The sneakers use an all black upper accented with varsity red on the Air Jordan branding on the tongue and heel. Red is also used for the contrast stitching on the black toe-cap. Further accents include a touch of cement and Jordans signature elephant print included on the heel.
From our understanding this colorway of the Air Jordan Flight 45 is set to officially release in later this year either in August or November. The pictures shown here are of a sample pair which is available for sale now on eBay.

MTV Mixtape Monday - Cam’ron
DukeDaGod included the Cam’ron and Jadakiss record “Let’s Talk About It” on his The Last Dragon mixtape, although you didn’t get the duet on Cam’s Crime Pays album. At least not yet. Cam is planning to re-release the album in July with a couple of new tracks. The new version will coincide with the release of his movie “The Bakery.” This summer, he also says to look for the U.N.’s debut.
“U.N. album, it was supposed to come out August 5th, but I wanna come out around the same time as some people I’m in competition with,” he explained to us. “I wanna wait for their date and put that [U.N.] album out the same date their album comes out.”
When asked what rival crew he was talking about, Killa declined to say.
“Whatever date you see the U.N. album and somebody else’s coming out, you’ll get a whiff of [who I'm talking about]. I hear [the other crew's] coming out September or something. If I don’t get no whiff of when the album is coming out, then we’ll stick to our original date and put the U.N. album out, like, August 5th or August 12th. Then I’m putting out another [solo] album in December, definitely.”
So far, Cam’s prized member of the U.N. is fellow Harlem native Vado. “Vado got a lot of hits. We got a few other acts we working with,” Killa said. “To keep it 100, Vado got the streets in a smash, and Harlem, he’s got an unbelievable buzz. Everybody in Harlem already know what it is. He’s got the ‘hood in a frenzy. I’m trying to bring the next new stuff out.”
